Although the transfer window has already ended in Western Europe, the market in several countries such as Hungary, and the Central and Eastern European region will only close in February. There are several Hungarian national team players whose future is still in question. Among them, some free agents can switch at any time, but some are still under contract.

In December, DVSC announced that Krisztián Németh, capped 37 times for Hungary, had left the club by mutual agreement. In September, he agreed with Debrecen to help the team only in the fall season. The striker has recovered from a previous injury and is currently training without a club in the capital while his manager Vladan Filipović is negotiating Németh's future.

"Krisztián had an Arab opportunity that ultimately did not result in a contract. Right now, the priority is to find him a team in the American professional league, MLS," the player agent toldNemzeti Sportabout the forward who has already played in three U.S. teams. "This can be made easier because he will soon receive a green card in the United States, and he will no longer be considered a foreigner; he can be signed on the same terms as a local player."

Filipović also represents 33-year-old 48-time national team midfielder Ákos Elek of MOL Fehérvár, who has not been a member of the first squad since June 2020 and has been in the NB III team for a year and a half. He scored nine goals in 18 NB III games last season and has made six appearances in the third division this season. The manager said that there is no change in Elek's case. He is under contract with the club and is still preparing with the NB III squad, but he would like to play football and change clubs no later than the summer transfer window when his contract expires. However, he may also leave Fehérvár in the winter transfer window.

Krisztián Németh and Ákos Elek, as was Barnabás Bese, were also members of head coach Bernd Stock's Euro 2016 squad, and all three played in the tournament. Bese left OH Leuven in Belgium by mutual agreement during the winter transfer window and received training opportunities from NB II Vasas. However, signing the 27-year-old right-back, who wants to continue playing abroad, is not in the talks.

Roland Varga, 32, capped 24 times, played at last year's European Championships, and after the tournament, he signed with Al-Ittihad Kalba in the Emirates, with which he terminated his contract by mutual agreement in January.

"Roland Varga is no longer Al-Ittihad Kalba's player, but he has been permitted to continue preparing at the club. However, he is already training separately from the team. We are discussing his future, there are clubs in the region and Hungary that are interested in him, but we are primarily thinking about going abroad,” said the winger's manager, József Vörösbaranyi.

The same manager represents Budapest Honvéd's two-time national team striker Norbert Balogh, 25, whom we reported on last week that he could continue in DAC despite an offer from Asia.

"DAC would indeed sign him, and although there was an offer from a distant country, Dunajská Streda would be the most suitable in every respect. The transfer window in Slovakia runs until February 21, and there is still time to conclude the negotiations,"the manager said. Balogh is under contract with Honvéd, so the potential clubs must agree on his transfer with Kispest first.

Contrary to the above mentioned, Krisztián Vadócz, capped 42 times, has not played for a team since last August; he played for Montevideo Wanderers in Uruguay most recently. He last commented on his situation in a similar summary article in January.

"I have been looking for a team for a long time," Krisztián Vadócz told our portal. "In September, I trained for two weeks with the second team of Honvéd, and then I asked if they would count on me based on what they saw, but I got a negative response. Then, the club's managers said the same thing the other day. I don't think I'll ever ask this again... I always thought that if I wasn't needed at Honvéd, I would quit playing football, but I don't feel weak. Every market is completely different, I could go back to India - they ask me at the beginning of summer every year to join them. However, it's now winter, and the squad is coming together by this time, not to mention the fact that clubs can employ fewer foreign players. My performance in Uruguay has also left a mark in the region, so it is possible that I will end up in South America, and the opportunity in Africa is still on. The coronavirus situation is not helping my situation either, and I am 36 years old, which is not an attractive age for a club seeking a player. I have spoken to many teams in Hungary, as I can see, they think differently on the Hungarian market than the ones abroad... I've decided that I'm going to try to find my way as a foreign player in the future. Something will happen eventually."
