According to head coach Marco Rossi, the Hungarian national team performed in a way at the European Championship that every Hungarian can be proud of.

"We were so close to the bravura that would've been not only historical but incredible and unimaginable. However, even the best fairy tales don't always have a happy ending. I know that technically we're not the best in the world, but there are other aspects as well. In the tactical point of view, the way we help each other out is incredible. I'm proud of the team and that I get to coach them. I congratulated the guys and added that we have to get our heads up because the World Cup qualifiers are resuming in two months," said Marco Rossi.

"The way we play together as a team, especially in defense that's strictly following the tactic, is where we've perhaps improved the most. We've tried a lot of things in real life against opponents who are the best in the world. Honestly, I also prefer attacking football, but we need to be aware of who we've played with. What fascinated me was that they did everything I asked for. We played bravely; we weren't afraid of the opponents. I thank the team and our fantastic fans for that. Seven or eight million Hungarians have watched us at home on TV, and they can be proud of what we've achieved."

"I would challenge anyone to stand up to these opponents and try earning a single point. We earned two. I know Hungary's long past, both its history and football history. We led against the French, twice against Germany in Munich, and we finished both matches with a draw - this is an unprecedented act. The guys have now done something that people will remember for years to come," added the head coach, who then rushed away from the post-match press conference as the Hungarian national team flew back to Budapest that night.
